We were at the Global Media Forum in Bonn, Germany

Two years ago at the DW Global Media Forum in Bonn, Germany I was courageously brought out by Barbara Gruber to speak and strategise around their PodcasTraining Project. With Ola Möller, Julia Minner and Marc Seidal we presented MethodKIT for Podcasts and thought of ideas on how to bring podcasting to the world.

It was also at that event that I first showed people my AI tool for creating entirely synthetic podcasts (that I had built earlier that year with colab and ChatGPT) and gained the confidence that what I had built and my insights in the AI media space had merit. Develop AI would soon be formed as a result. On a loud boat also during that conference in 2023 I met Kristian Porter from the excellent Public Media Alliance. We have subsequently worked a number of times on AI trainings and workshops around the world.

This year I have returned to Bonn thanks to the wonderful Julius Endert and Sanya B. who invited me to be part of DW Freedom, DW Akademie's Media Development Think Tank. This is a huge honour that I don't take lightly. We will be partaking in a full day called “Reclaiming our Languages: Ideation Workshop”. This is an exciting topic in relation to AI and one pretty close to my heart and I'm excited to be in a room with incredible people from all around the world to figure out the challenges and innovations around language and technology going forward.
